How do you write a recount?

A recount is an account of past incident that you saw or experienced.

In a recount, you narrate the incident in the order it happened using the past tense.

A recount is always written in the first person. You have to use “I”, “My”, “Me” and “Mine” for the person who tells the story.

When you write a recount based on a series of pictures, you need to study the pictures in their correct sequence carefully.

Plan your recount. Make sure you have a setting, a main event and a resolution.

Provide relevant information about the event relating to who, when, where, what and how.
